Alarm activation is now suspended while a user is confirming multi-user appointment modifications.

The OLE Object Edit/Open command is now disabled when the user does not have Document modify rights.
Service Release 2 Updates
  • Importing Notes from a MTI File - A problem importing notes from a Maximizer Transfer Interface (MTI) file has been fixed. When importing notes from an MTI file (a comma delimited ASCII file), all words in the notes had the first letter capitalized. The notes will now be imported using the correct capitalization.

  • Printing an Executive Report - A problem with the Executive Report associated with Sales Team membership has been fixed. Under certain circumstances, if a team member other than the MASTER user printed an Executive Report, an error message resulted; Error Code 7 or a General Protection Fault error. The Executive Report now prints successfully.

  • Multiple Saves in Maximizer Word Processor - A problem saving documents with embedded objects has been fixed. If a document with embedded objects was saved twice in rapid succession, an error sometimes occurred in certain circumstances. Documents of this type are now saved without error.

  • Printing an Executive Report as HTML - A problem resulting in blinking tags being set in an Executive Report when printing to an HTML file has been fixed. After printing the report, a portion of the text was displayed as blinking text when viewed with Netscape Navigator (but not Internet Explorer). The report HTML is now correctly displayed in Netscape Navigator.

  • Printing Journals with Full Detail - A problem with printing Journal entries using the Full Details option has been fixed. The date and time information would only appear in a Journal Report if "Print list only" was selected. The Full Details option now works correctly.

If you cleared the list in the Address Book window, then chose to print a custom envelope or label, the custom address information was not used. An address from the previous list would be printed. Printing custom envelopes and labels now works correctly.

  • Saving an E-mail Message as a Document Using Drag and Drop - A problem with saving a particular type of E-mail message as a document for an Address Book entry has been fixed. If particular E-mail messages with attachments were dragged and dropped to an Address Book entry and saved as a document, a General Protection Fault error may have occurred. This action now works correctly.

  • Switching Between Address Book Folders - A problem switching between Address Book folders while running Maximizer Enterprise 5.0 on Windows NT or Windows 95 has been fixed. This problem occurred when selecting the File > Open Address Book Folder command while an existing Address Book folder, the Calendar window and the E-mail window were open. Under these circumstances, this operation produced an error code 3 on the holiday and appointments files. This operation now completes successfully.

  • Synchronization Using MDE - A problem with synchronization of Workstations when using Maximizer Data Exchange (MDE) has been fixed. The problem occurred when inserting an Address Book entry with a *Group UDF item attached to the record. Although the entry was synchronized with the SuperPeer database, it was not synchronized with the Workstations. The synchronization now works correctly.

  • Saving an E-mail Message with Internet Attachments in the Documents Window - A known problem with saving an E-mail message with an Internet attachment as a document may be fixed by upgrading your E-mail client. The problem exists in viewing these types of attachments in the Documents window and/or with the distortion of the attachment name. This also occurs with only some E-mail clients. You may possibly correct this problem by downloading or purchasing the latest upgrade to your E-mail software. Following is a list of those programs that are known to work properly with Internet file attachments.

Transaction journalling now works properly with MaxFinder and MaxAlarm.

Service Release 2 Updates
  • Address Book Entry Deletion Using MaxExchange 5.0 and Enterprise 4.x - A problem where some Address Book entries were incorrectly deleted from distribution sites has been fixed. The problem occurred when MaxExchange 5.0 was used together with Maximizer Enterprise 4.0. Under a certain set of circumstances, the deletion of an Address Book Entry performed by a user in Maximizer Enterprise caused the values of some Address Book entries' User-defined fields to be incorrectly deleted from distribution sites.

When the MaxExchange SuperPeer processed incoming packets from the Workstation where the Address Book entry delete was performed, it not only correctly deleted the User-defined field values from the target Address Book entry (and, of course, the Address Book entry itself) but also incorrectly deleted User-defined field values of other Address Book entries. If the *MaxExchange Distribution system-defined User-defined field value was affected (deleted) for an Address Book entry, it was subsequently removed from distribution sites from which it should not have been. Deleting an Address Book entry at a distribution site now functions correctly.

  • Multi-user Appointment Deletion Failure - A problem deleting multi-user appointments has been fixed. The problem occurred whenever a multi-user appointment was deleted in Maximizer Enterprise and only the first user's record of the appointment was synchronized by MaxExchange. The other users' records of the appointment incorrectly remained on distribution sites when they should have been deleted. Deleting a multi-user appointment now functions correctly.

  • Adding a Contact Using Drag and Drop - A problem with adding a Contact using drag and drop has been fixed. The problem occurred when dragging an entry from the Address Book window to the Contacts window while a DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) conversation was established between Maximizer Enterprise and another application. In this case, the name entered for the Contact's last name was saved in the Company field, and the remainder of the Contact's entered basic information was disregarded. Adding a Contact using drag and drop now functions correctly.

  • Searching by Notes - A problem that caused certain note searches to fail to find all entries it should have has been fixed. The problem occurred when executing the Search by Notes command and specifying either the 'Add search results to list' or 'Replace list with search results' option in the Modify current Address Book list group box. Under this condition, the search may not have always returned all the Address Book entries with notes which contained the search string specified in the Text search edit field. The Search by Notes command now functions correctly.

  • Dates in Opportunities - A problem with the display of the proper creation date of an opportunity has been fixed. The problem was that the current year was always displayed as part of the creation date. The correct year of the creation date is now displayed.
